Participant blogsRead the participants own Experiences of KIJ 09! My experience at Kent JamboreeAuthor: Andrew | Date: 06-08-2009 It all began on Thursday the 30th of July. We arrived at the campsite and made it feel like home. On our first activity day we went on a day trip to London. It was so great seeing all the famous sights. On our second day at the Kent Jambo we did some water activities. It was great weather for it, so we had lots of fun. Our third day was Onsite activity day. There were activities from archery to kart racing. It was great. The fourth day was our subcamp day. We had to dress up, Victorian style. On the fifth day we had some more great activities. The sixth and final day, we had a knockout competition. It was well wicked. But sadly it all had to end on the 6th of August, but I still had a lot of fun International friendshipAuthor: Amy and Bethany | Date: 05-08-2009 The other day we went to Hastings it was super cool, the sea was cold. We also got very wet on the water activity day we went on we took part in canoeing, kayaking and had a go at raft building which was very successful until one person fell off and we all did. For part of the Global Explorer Challenge we had to invite someone from a different Troop round for dinner and we invited three scouts from Holland and had a very enjoyable time and had a great laugh. We have some of there email addresses and will probably keep in touch . On the activity field there were many activities to complete but our favorite was the climbing we completed everything (abseiling, rock climbing, stacks building and one with a rope you had to climb up using two clever knots) except from the ice climbing as we are not old enough!
